In this relaunch of The Voice of Mill Park, I introduce the refreshed direction for the show, share a quick update on the new feed and branding, and outline what you can expect moving forward.
Episodes will come out twice a week.
One to wrap up the week and look toward the weekend, and another to preview what’s ahead across Mill Park and nearby suburbs like South Morang, Bundoora, Lalor and Reservoir.
I’m aiming to include interviews and ‘man-on-the-street’ chats as the weather improves, plus community notices and anything else that’s useful for local residents.
This podcast is for you; the Mill Park community.
I’ll steer clear of party politics and keep the focus on what matters locally, holding all sides to account when needed.
There’ll be no paywalls or exclusives; it’s all open and run on a value-for-value model.
You can subscribe via Fountain at fountain.fm, and keep an eye on the new home at thevoiceofmillpark.com.au.
Thanks for joining me as we kick off this relaunched episode and set up the regular schedule ahead.

[00:00:00] Cameron Blewett:
Good morning, Mel Park, and welcome to this, relaunched episode or episode 10 of the relaunched, Mill Park podcast now called The Voice of Mill Park. My name is Cameron Blewett. I’m the host of this podcast, and, doing a bit of relaunch. It’ll be a bit of a short one because I’ve changed the feed. Not sure what I’m going to do with, previous episodes. I think, you know, I might put them in the archive, but then, you know, I I might, you know, just delete them and and all that sort of stuff. But anyway, reason for that is one of my other podcasts that I had, I sort of wasn’t happy with it. So, when I changed the feed on that one, it had an impact on this one as well. So, it’s a bit of a newbie mistake there that I should have known about. Unfortunately, I I didn’t. So, I’ve gotta do all this process again of, introducing this and and getting feeds up and and all that sort of good stuff, for that. So yeah. Anyway, here we are.
Mill Park, voice of Mill Park, podcast is going to be, twice a week, Friday morning and Monday morning or maybe Sunday. I’m not sure yet, but I will settle it down, after a couple more episodes. I wanna do a twice a week one because I sort of wanna have a Friday one to, bit of a recap of of things that have happened in the week and sort of looking forward to the weekend, as well as, any interviews and all that sort of stuff that I wanna do with people. And I could do some, men on the street, episodes. Now I did I know I did mention them in a couple of podcasts ago. Every time I’ve gone to do it, the weather in Victoria has been exemplary.
And I just have one wanted to go outside and get the equipment wet. So I’m sort of whimmed out about that one. You know, now that it’s getting warmer, hopefully, it’s getting warmer. You know, I’ll be able to do it more often and all that sort of stuff as well. So, and then the Sunday one, Sunday is gonna be sort of the week ahead. Give everyone a bit of a, you know, an update of of what’s what’s coming up in the week, anything to pay attention to, as well as, anything else that I can I think of that sort of tickles fancy? Now this is going to be a as much of an a political podcast as I can make it.
I’m a devout anarchist, who’s saying, you you know, I’m not gonna take, you know, play sides or anything like that. I think, our political system leaves a lot to be desired. So don’t think that this is gonna be a podcast where I just push one side and and not hold the other side accountable, where I’ll be holding both sides accountable. I’ll be as much as I can, with just a voice and podcast. But, you know, this is more not for me to have around about politics, because I do have other podcasts for that one. This is a podcast for you, the fellow residents of Mill Park. It’s a place for you to, have your voice to hear about things that are going on, to share anything that is happening, in the neighborhood and all that sort of stuff. So, yes, it’s you know, it is it is as I said, it is something for you.
Now, just need to let everyone know that I’m not gonna be taking, advertising or paywalls or anything like that with this podcast. This podcast is going to be solely run on the value for value model, which was created by Adam Curry and John C Dvorak of the No Agenda Show. This is more about, you know, everything out there. If you like it, you know, and you get value in what you’ve listened to, you know, all I ask is that you return some of that value to me. How you do that can be any way that you see fit, time, talent, or treasure. I’ll get a bit more into that one in later episodes. We just wanna sort of wanted to let you know nothing will be hidden by a paywall. There’s not gonna be any exclusive content.
You will get everything right here. All open for you to see. If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it. All All that sort of stuff. If you do like it, subscribe, on, my, podcast app of choice is fountain. You can find that at fountain.fm. Works good in a car. If I go or I I do sort of plan on going to live episodes. Not sure what day. That’ll probably be early next year. I’ll do live episodes earlier live, and then, the recorded podcast will be released later on after that. But anyway, as I said, it’s, things that are coming, and all that sort of stuff. So, what else? Bit of a new domain too. This was millpark.blog.
Now I’ve gone to the voice of millpark.com.au. So there’s a bit of a change there. Hence, the the reason there’s a bit of a relaunch, Mill Park blog, may, you know, may stay there, but this is gonna be more focused on, the voice of Mill Park, and all that sort of stuff. So so that’s the branding for it. It it’s, you know, it’s gonna be essentially your, audio resource for what’s happening in the area. I’m not just going to limit it to Mill Park. I’ll talk about anything that’s going on South Morang, Bundoora, Laylaw Reservoir, and all those other areas. But, you know, just things that will be relevant to the people and residents within Mill Park. So, anyway, I think that’s about it for now before I, start getting on and and waffling a great deal about stuff that well, may may not or should not waffle about in this the relaunched episode zero, of the, the voice of Mel Park.
So anyway, thank you for for joining into this one. I do look forward to having you join me in the next one, which by the time this feed gets done, should be, Thursday or Friday. It’s, subscribe to head over to fountain.fm. Yep. And look for the voice of Mill Park, and you’ll find this podcast there and just subscribe through that app and all that sort of stuff. So yep. Anyway, as I said, thanks for listening. My name’s Cameron Blewett. And until next time, bye for now.
